Wendover Pro Solo

On July 19th and 20th, Ron and Annie attended the Wendover Pro Solo, in Wendover, Utah.  Temperatures were quite warm, with 101 degrees being seen both days.  Bauerspeed Racing was looking to add another pair of victories to their belt to make it into the Pro Finale in September with perfect points.  They did not disappoint!

Ron took the lead from the 1st pair of runs and never looked back, finishing ahead of Kevin Youngers in his BMW 330ci by 0.771 seconds.  Ron also gained an additional bonus point for having a large enough margin of victory to keep the rest of the class out of the Challenge rounds.  This gives Ron 42 points (the highest you can have) going into the Finale.

Annie didn't take the lead right off the start, but Saturday afternoon proved to be great for her.  She was in 3rd place after morning runs, but was able to move up into the lead in the afternoon, ahead of some great competition.  Sunday morning found Annie running a left side run that was just 3/10ths of a second off of the time Ron had to sit on.  Ultimately, this gave Annie another win in L1, with a margin of victory of 0.345 seconds.  Annie now has 40 points going into the Finale, with only one other driver, Merideth Brown, in the same position currently.
