Our Car 2008 looks like it will be an exciting year for Bauerspeed Racing! After spending the 2006 season in a 1994 Mazda Miata in CSP, the team acquired a new 2007 Mazda MX-5 at the beginning of the '07 season that they are campaigning in the same class. As has been the case for the past 14 seasons, the team will be going for top honors with the Sports Car Club of America. CSP top runners currently include all years of Miatas along with mid to late '80s CRXs and Civics. CSP is in the Street Prepared category which allows a number of modifications. The main idea behind the class is to allow common bolt on aftermarket items. This includes shocks, springs, swaybars, wheels, exhaust, intake, etc. One other mainstay of this category is the ability to update/backdate. What this means is that cars can take advantage of different parts from different cars, as long as they're all considered to be the same. So, for the Miatas through 2005, it means that you could take a 1990 Miata and add the 2005 motor if you wanted. Unfortunately, with the 2006/2007 MX-5, the only updating/backdating that can be done involve these two years. So, currently there aren't really any options available that look to be helpful. The team will be doing some additional research though to see if there are any parts from the new Power Retractable Hard Top model that might help. Kumho Tire is back on board, along with Goodwin Racing and Fordahl Motorsports. The team would like to welcome Mazmart on as a new sponsor. Current Modifications:
